Assistant Accountant (On‑site) : Qatar

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Accountant in day-to-day accounting and financial operations.
  • Maintain accurate financial records, general ledgers, and data entries.
  • Process accounts payable and receivable transactions
  • Assist with month-end closing, including journal entries and accruals
  • Support VAT/GST or other tax return preparation
  • Maintain petty cash and verify employee expense reports
  • Prepare invoices, follow up on customer payments, and document receipts.
  • Perform bank reconciliations and track expenses on a regular basis.
  • Coordinate with internal departments to obtain necessary financial information.
  • Support the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses.
  • Provide general administrative assistance to the finance team as required.

Must Have

  • Partly qualified CA, ACCA, or equivalent qualification
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in an accounts department
  • Hands-on experience with accounting software such as Odoo or similar systems
  • Strong report writing and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., VLOOKUP, PivotTables) High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Demonstrated integrity and ability to handle confidential information

Nice to have

  • Experience with advanced Odoo modules or other accounting systems (QuickBooks, Xero)
  • Strong administrative or organizational background
